FAQ
Who is Podington Bear? Really.
Prior to July 2008, Podington Bear's identity was unknown. Some short interviews appeared in WIRED.com and The Globe & Mail before he revealed himself as Chad Crouch, record label proprietor, visual artist, designer, unskilled tradesman, and musician (a'course) via a press release, and this interview with Joanne Colan:
Podington, what kind of software do you use?
I use Reason and Live mostly, on a Mac.
Do you license your songs for film, internet, and TV and other media?

I do, and I would like to do more. I have licensed music to Paul Frank Industries, This American Life (Showtime) as well as short films, interstitial music, video games, and internet clips. I've also composed original music for radio and TV spots, and scores for short films. Does your production require a diverse catalog of instrumental music? I can hook you up. (See also soundofpicture.com my outlet for moody, atmospheric compositions.)
You were making 3 songs a week for a year? That's 156 songs. How can you make 156 songs without sucking?
It took me 18 months.
Can I use your song in my You Tube Video / home movie?
Please do, according to a Creative Commons BY-NC License. (Credit me.) And send me a link so I can see what it looks like!
Can I remix, or sing over, or slice and dice one of your songs and share it with people?
Please do! All of my original work here is offered up with an Attribution-Noncomercial Creative Commons License. Making an indie film? Festival licenses are free too!

I forget how to navigate and listen to your songs continuously in iTunes. Any tips?
Yes. Try this one: smart playlist. To make a smart playlist choose "New Smart Playlist" from the file menu in iTunes. It will bring up a dialog box. Just type in "Podington Bear" after "artist + contains" and hit return. Voila!
Next if you have an iPod. Consider clicking the Podcasts tab the next time you sync ). You can sync all, or click the ones you like the best, like mine, for example.
Alternatively under the music tab you can select "sync by playlist" (if you music library is too vast to fit on your pod) and check the new, smart, sexy Podington Bear playlist you created!
