Just heard your music by following links on Slashdot.org. Nice music. Nice bear logo. Patronage is an interesting idea. How does it compare to out-and-out advertising? Like the "difference" between sponsors on PBS TV and broadcast TV?

I'm looking into my crystal ball. I see a manufactured CD!

No wait, there it is on the desk. My plan was to use it for promotion only, but I'm thinking about offering them via mail order after getting some nice emails. Stay tuned.

Mr (/Mrs/Ms) Bear-

First off, I wanted to say that I really enjoy your music...as a composer myself, I consider your endeavor a very ambitious one...

I think your marketing idea is brilliant. I would consider myself an "audio purest" in that I really think that music loses something when it is heavily compressed. That being said, I think compressed digital music formats have created a huge playing field for musicians who are clever enough to, instead of griping about the decline of cd sales, put a new spin on their (self) marketing campaigns. I think many skeptics are only willing to approach your ideas from, at best, a self-imposed state of incredulity; there's just not willing to accept change.

I look forward to seeing how your music/marketing concepts will evolve.

PS For anyone who is interested in being a patron, the above pdf link is broken, but <a href="http://podingtonbear.com/assets/podington's_perfect_pitch.pdf" rel="nofollow">this </a>works
(there was no "g" in "podington's")
